A study of the fictionist F. Scott Fitzgerald, with careful
investigation of his literary art and of the biographical, historical and cultural
context in which he developed that art.

Students will learn to 1) identify, describe, and
compare the literary features
of a variety of fictional forms Fitzgerald developed in 20th-
century America; 2) Evaluate how perspective
and background inform the
reading experience; 3) Conduct Research; 4)
Articulate critical positions
and interpretations

Students must write three papers, each three to five pages., post regularly on the course's Discussion Forum, participate in a group presentation, take a mid-term and final exam, repeatedly share assigned reading with friends or family in a non-academic setting, and attend class regularly.
